Bonzil 5mg Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of mild to moderate dementia in Alzheimer’s disease, a progressive illness that gradually affects memory and thinking. While it does not cure the disease, it may help improve memory, awareness, and other symptoms. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, vomiting, muscle cramps, fatigue, weight loss, headache, loss of appetite, common cold, urinary incontinence, and rash. It is important to stay hydrated while taking this medication. Consult your doctor before starting or stopping the medication, especially if you have heart problems, stomach ulcers, epilepsy, or asthma. The medication should be used during pregnancy only if advised by a doctor.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Bonzil 5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time, preferably at night before going to bed.

You have been prescribed Bonzil 5mg Tablet to slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. It does not cure Alzheimer’s disease but may help improve brain function and ability to do daily activities. Take it with or without food, preferably at night before going to bed. It may cause diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. Monitor your body weight regularly as both Bonzil 5mg Tablet and Alzheimer’s disease can cause weight loss.
Bonzil 5mg Tablet is recommended to be taken before bedtime to reduce gastrointestinal side effects or nausea, which are sometimes experienced in some patients during the first few weeks of treatment.
Gastrointestinal side effects may appear during the first few weeks of treatment with Bonzil 5mg Tablet. This can be minimized by taking Bonzil 5mg Tablet at bedtime and with food. Generally, these side effects are mild and will disappear within a few weeks with continued treatment.
Within the first month of treatment with Bonzil 5mg Tablet, you may experience an improvement in thinking and remembering (cognitive effects). However, full benefits may not be seen until around 12 weeks of continued treatment.
Do not stop Bonzil 5mg Tablet without consulting your doctor. This medicine only helps to control your condition but does not cure it. Therefore, it may take several weeks to show benefits, so do not be discouraged if you do not see an improvement right away. However, consult a doctor immediately in case your condition worsens or the treatment is no longer helpful.
Bonzil 5mg Tablet is removed from the body slowly. It can take up to two weeks or more for Bonzil 5mg Tablet to be completely eliminated from the system.
No, Bonzil 5mg Tablet does not cause depression. If you are experiencing symptoms of depression, then it could be due to pre-existing Alzheimer's disease.
Taking more than the recommended dose of Bonzil 5mg Tablet may cause vomiting, increased sweating or saliva production, slow heartbeat, dizziness, difficulty in breathing, seizures or fits, weakness, low blood pressure, convulsions, and inability to control your bowel motions or passing of urine (incontinence). Seek immediate medical attention from a doctor or local emergency services.
Bonzil 5mg Tablet does not interfere with the working of indomethacin, but indomethacin individually increases the risk of stomach bleeding when taken for a long time. Therefore, if you experience any symptoms of stomach bleeding, consult your doctor immediately.
Hallucinations are a common side effect of Bonzil 5mg Tablet, although not everyone experiences them. Other frequent psychiatric side effects include agitation, aggressive behavior, nightmares, and abnormal dreams.
