Frequently asked questions
What is Bolt 2500mcg Injection?
Bolt 2500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 is found naturally in some foods like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, vegetarians or vegans may not get enough Vitamin B12 from their diet as it's not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, a deficiency of Vitamin B12 might be noticed in these individuals.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal). It can also lead to nerve problems like numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency may include balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Bolt 2500mcg Injection safe?
Bolt 2500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash have been reported. If a rash occurs, discontinue the medicine immediately.
How should Bolt 2500mcg Injection be given?
Bolt 2500mcg Injection can be administered either through an intravenous injection or intramuscularly. The usual dose is one ampoule (0.5 mg of Bolt 2500mcg Injection) and it is given three times a week.
