Do not consume more than the recommended dose as an overdose of it may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The treatment must be completed even if you feel better to ensure a complete recovery.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Bioprim Syrup is to be taken with food.
Bioprim Syrup is a combination of two antibiotics: Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim. These antibiotics work by preventing the bacteria from producing folic acid a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication. Together they treat your infection effectively.
You have been prescribed Bioprim Syrup for the treatment of many types of bacterial infections. Finish the prescribed course of Bioprim Syrup even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it does not stop or if you find blood in your stools. Stop taking Bioprim Syrup and inform your doctor if you develop skin rash/blisters or other unexplained skin reaction while taking Bioprim Syrup. In case of long-term use, have regular monthly blood tests to monitor your blood cells as suggested by your doctor.
