Biomyf 500 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called immunosuppressants. It is used with other medicines to prevent your body from rejecting an organ (such as a kidney, heart, or liver) after a transplant. It works by suppressing your body’s immune system so that it does not attack the new organ.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Biomyf 500 Tablet is to be taken with food.
Biomyf 500 Tablet is an immunosuppressant. It reduces the action of the body's own defense system (the immune system) and prevents rejection of the transplanted organ.
Your doctor has prescribed Biomyf 500 Tablet to stop your body from rejecting a transplanted organ (e.g. kidney, heart or liver). It may take 6 to 12 weeks for Biomyf 500 Tablet to start working. Keep taking it as prescribed. It may cause birth defects so birth control is required in females with reproductive potential. It makes you more susceptible to getting infections. Avoid contact with people who have an infection. Protect yourself from direct sunlight by wearing protective clothing and applying a sunscreen with a high sun protection factor (SPF).
Biomyf 500 Tablet may increase your risk of certain cancers, such as skin cancer and lymphoma (cancer of the lymph system). Protecting yourself from the sun is important: wear protective clothing when outdoors, avoid unnecessary or prolonged exposure to sunlight, and apply sunscreen regularly. If you experience a new skin sore, bump, change in mole size or color, brown or black skin lesion with uneven edges, or a skin area that looks different, contact your doctor immediately. Similarly, notify your doctor if you have unexplained fever, persistent tiredness, unexplained weight loss, or pain or swelling in the neck, groin, or armpits.

Biomyf 500 Tablet is an immunosuppressant, which weakens your immune system. If you come into contact with a person with chickenpox or shingles, the weakened immune system may make you susceptible to developing these conditions.
Do not take Biomyf 500 Tablet if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. There is a high risk of miscarriage during the first three months of pregnancy, and it may even cause birth defects in the newborn. Therefore, use two acceptable forms of birth control for four weeks before starting treatment, during treatment, and for six weeks after stopping Biomyf 500 Tablet. It's important to use a second form of birth control along with your pill as Biomyf 500 Tablet may decrease its effectiveness.
It's recommended that either the man or his partner use reliable contraception during and for 90 days after treatment. Men should also avoid semen donation during the therapy, as well as for 90 days following discontinuation of Biomyf 500 Tablet.
