Calcitriol is the active form of Vitamin D, which raises Vitamin D levels in your blood. This in turn raises calcium levels in your blood by helping you absorb more calcium from your intestine.

Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medications like for bone disorders, antihypertensives, antibiotics, antacids, other calcium supplements, or medicines for heart disease. Inform your doctor if you are taking an iron supplement as the absorption rate might be affected.
