Bikomin 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.
Bikomin 1500mcg Injection is a medical formulation that contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 plays a crucial role in the body's production of red blood cells and maintenance of a healthy nervous system, as well as energy metabolism.
People who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may be at risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, as this essential nutrient is not naturally found in plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, and grains.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to various health issues, including tiredness, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal), and nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Additionally, it may cause balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Bikomin 1500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe for use. However, rare side effects may occur, including nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash. If a rash appears, discontinue the medication immediately.
The injection can be given intravenously or intramuscularly. The standard dose is one ampoule (containing 0.5 mg of Bikomin 1500mcg Injection), and it should be administered three times a week for the first two months. After this period, maintenance therapy involves giving one ampoule every one to three months.
When injecting the medication, it is essential to rotate the injection site to avoid discomfort and potential complications. If intense pain or blood flow back into the syringe occurs during injection, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
