Beta Cobal Forte Injection is a form of vitamin B12 that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.
Beta Cobal Forte Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 plays an essential role in red blood cell production and maintaining a healthy nervous system. It also helps release energy from food and uses vitamin B11 (folic acid).
You may not obtain adequate Vitamin B12 from a plant-based diet. It is not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, individuals following a vegetarian or vegan diet may experience Vitamin B12 deficiency.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia. This condition involves larger than normal red blood cells. It may also result in nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other potential symptoms include balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness in the mouth or tongue.
Beta Cobal Forte Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, some individuals might experience rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash. If a rash occurs, discontinue the medication immediately.
Beta Cobal Forte Injection can be administered either intravenously or intramuscularly. The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Beta Cobal Forte Injection) and it is given three times a week. After two months, the dosage is adjusted to 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Beta Cobal Forte Injection) once every one to three months for maintenance therapy.
Do not repeat injections at the same site. If there is intense pain during injection or backflow of blood into the syringe, remove the needle and re-inject at a different location.
