It is also part of the multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment regimen. This medicine is used to target the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, and urinary tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or become resistant. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Bestoflox 50mg/5ml Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine.
Bestoflox 50mg/5ml Suspension is an antibiotic that interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA. These defects hamper the multiplication of the bacteria and affect its survival as well. Thus, it kills the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.

Accidental overdose is unlikely to cause harm. However, if you suspect an accidental overdose, immediately contact a healthcare professional. Overdose may cause unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregular heartbeat). Seek immediate medical attention if any of these symptoms arise in your child.
If your child does not show improvement despite completing the full course of Bestoflox 50mg/5ml Suspension, it might mean the medicine is not effective against the infection-causing bacteria. In this case, consult a healthcare professional who can prescribe alternative antibiotics that are more specific in action. Remember, medication administration methods may differ depending on the medication; some may be administered intravenously (IV) for better efficacy.
It's essential to inform your doctor about any other medications or supplements your child is taking before starting Bestoflox 50mg/5ml Suspension. This allows for a complete assessment of potential drug interactions and helps ensure safe dosage.
Antibiotics generally don't interfere with vaccines or cause adverse reactions in children after vaccination. However, it's crucial to avoid giving vaccinations until your child has recovered from the illness. Once your child recovers, they can receive the vaccine.
