Bempeday 180mg Tablet is used to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Tablet
Bempeday 180mg Tablet is used to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Cholesterol is a fatty substance that builds up in your blood vessels and causes narrowing, possibly leading to a heart attack or stroke.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Bempeday 180mg Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Bempeday 180mg Tablet works by blocking an enzyme (enzyme adenosine triphosphate-citrate lyase) that is required to make “bad” cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein) in the liver which results in lower levels of 'bad' cholesterol.
Take Bempeday 180mg Tablet after a meal or with a snack to avoid gastrointestinal problems. Inform your doctor if you experience fatigue, muscle weakness, or muscle or joint pain. Your doctor may check your liver function before starting the treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform them if you notice signs of liver problems such as stomach pain, unusually dark urine, yellowing skin, or eyes. Lifestyle changes like a low-fat and salt diet, exercise, not smoking, and cutting down on the amount of alcohol you normally drink may help this medication work better.
In a clinical study, Bempeday 180mg Tablet was shown to reduce cholesterol levels by 17-28% after 12 weeks of treatment.
Yes, tiredness and fatigue are possible side effects of this medicine. If you experience these symptoms along with chest pain or rapid heartbeat, seek medical attention immediately.
This medicine can affect the liver in some individuals, but rarely causes liver damage. In some cases, it may increase levels of liver enzymes that usually resolve or improve with continued therapy or after discontinuation.
A doctor will not prescribe this medicine if you have had a tendon rupture in the past. This is because tendon rupture is a possible side effect of the drug, and symptoms may include pain, swelling, tears, or inflammation of tendons.
Take one tablet once daily with or without food for as long as it is prescribed by your doctor. Always follow your doctor's instructions in taking this medicine.
LDL, or low-density lipoprotein, is called bad cholesterol because it causes a buildup of cholesterol in the blood, leading to heart blockage and increased risk of heart attacks, strokes, and peripheral artery disease.
HDL, or high-density lipoprotein, is called good cholesterol because it carries cholesterol from your blood to the liver for removal. This reduces the risk of heart disease.
You can book a lipid profile test with any accredited laboratory. This test measures total cholesterol, LDL levels, HDL levels, triglycerides, and the ratio between cholesterol and HDL. After receiving your test report, consult a doctor to evaluate your results.
Your total cholesterol level should be 125-200 mg/dL, LDL should be less than 100 mg/dL, and HDL should be 40 mg/dL or higher.
If you have high cholesterol levels, it can build up on the walls of your arteries, causing them to become narrow. This reduced blood flow to the heart can lead to a heart attack or stroke.
Taking a low-fat diet, exercising regularly, reducing body weight, and limiting alcohol consumption can help improve the effectiveness of this medicine and lower cholesterol levels.
