Tablet
Belro 180mg Tablet is used to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Cholesterol is a fatty substance that builds up in your blood vessels and causes narrowing, possibly leading to a heart attack or stroke.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Belro 180mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Belro 180mg Tablet works by blocking an enzyme (enzyme adenosine triphosphate-citrate lyase) that is required to make “bad” cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein) in the liver, which results in lower levels of 'bad' cholesterol.
Take Belro 180mg Tablet after a meal or with a snack to avoid gastrointestinal problems. Inform your doctor if you experience fatigue, muscle weakness, or muscle or joint pain. Your doctor may check your liver function before starting the treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform them if you notice signs of liver problems such as stomach pain, unusually dark urine, yellowing skin, or eyes. Lifestyle changes like a low-fat and salt diet, exercise, not smoking, and cutting down on the amount of alcohol you normally drink may help this medication work better.
In clinical trials, Belro 180mg Tablet has been shown to reduce cholesterol levels by 17-28% after 12 weeks.
Fatigue and fatigue are possible side effects of this medicine. If you experience tiredness alongside chest pain or a rapid heartbeat, contact your doctor immediately as these could be signs of an emergency.
Belro 180mg Tablet may affect the liver, but rarely causes liver damage. In some patients, this medication can increase liver enzyme levels that usually improve or resolve during therapy or after discontinuation.
Your doctor may not prescribe Belro 180mg Tablet if you have had a tendon rupture in the past. This is because tendon rupture is a possible side effect of the drug. Tendon rupture involves damage to tendons, which connect muscles to bones. Symptoms may include pain, swelling, tears, and inflammation of the tendons including the arm, shoulder, and back of the ankle. You are also at higher risk for tendon rupture if you are 60 years or older or have kidney failure.
Take one tablet of Belro 180mg daily, with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor. It is always crucial to follow your doctor's instructions when taking this medication.
LDL, or low-density lipoprotein, is referred to as bad cholesterol because it contributes to the buildup of cholesterol in blood vessels. This buildup can lead to blockages in the heart, increasing the risk for heart attacks and strokes.
HDL, or high-density lipoprotein, is considered good cholesterol because it helps remove cholesterol from the blood, reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
To check your cholesterol levels, you can schedule a lipid profile test with a certified laboratory. This test measures total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and the ratio of cholesterol to HDL.
Your total cholesterol should be 125-200 mg/dL. Your LDL cholesterol should be less than 100 mg/dL, and your HDL cholesterol should be at least 40 mg/dL.
High cholesterol levels can cause problems such as plaque buildup in the arteries. If left untreated, this condition can lead to heart attacks and strokes.
In addition to taking Belro 180mg Tablet as prescribed, you can enhance its effectiveness by adopting a low-fat diet, engaging in regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol consumption.
