Key Information

Short Description

Belmore Tablet is used to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Dosage Form

Tablet

Introduction

Belmore Tablet is used to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Cholesterol is a fatty substance that builds up in your blood vessels and causes narrowing, possibly leading to a heart attack or stroke.

Directions for Use

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Belmore Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Safety Information

Side Effects

No common side effects listed.

Alcohol Warning

Alcohol Warning

It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Belmore Tablet. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning

Breastfeeding Warning

Belmore Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Pregnancy Warning

Pregnancy Warning

Belmore Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

How it works

Belmore Tablet works by blocking an enzyme (enzyme adenosine triphosphate-citrate lyase) that is required to make “bad” cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein) in the liver, which results in lower levels of 'bad' cholesterol.

Quick Tips

Take Belmore Tablet after a meal or with a snack to avoid gastrointestinal problems. Inform your doctor if you experience fatigue, muscle weakness, or muscle or joint pain. Your doctor may check your liver function before starting the treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform them if you notice signs of liver problems such as stomach pain, unusually dark urine, yellowing skin, or eyes. Lifestyle changes like a low-fat and salt diet, exercise, not smoking, and cutting down on the amount of alcohol you normally drink may help this medication work better.
