It is effective in infections of the brain (e.g., meningitis), lungs (e.g., pneumonia), ear, urinary tract, skin & soft tissues, bones & joints, blood, and heart. It works by killing the bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive. Common side effects are not listed, but it is important to complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Consult your doctor if you experience any severe side effects or if you have any concerns.
