Bactromix Cream is a combination of four medicines: Terbinafine, Clobetasol, Ofloxacin, and Ornidazole, which treats skin infections. Terbinafine is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their protective covering. Clobetasol is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Ornidazole is also an antibiotic which kills other infectious microorganisms in addition to bacteria by damaging the DNA.
It is for use on skin only. Do not use it in your eyes, mouth, or vagina. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas. Wash your hands with soap before and after applying the cream. Do not share your towel or clothes with anyone. Wear clean clothes every day to prevent infection. Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor. If you think the area of skin you are treating has become more irritated and infected, you should stop using Bactromix Cream and consult your doctor. Do not use this medicine more often or for longer than advised by your doctor. Inform your doctor if the treated skin area does not improve after 2 weeks of treatment.
No, you must continue taking Bactromix Cream as prescribed even if your symptoms improve. Your skin infection may not be fully cured until the medication is completed, and stopping abruptly could interfere with its effectiveness.
Bactromix Cream should not be used on the face. Avoid prolonged use of the medication, as this may increase side effects. Do not apply a bandage or dressing over the treated area, as this can enhance absorption and risk side effects. This medication should only be used by the patient and should never be shared with others, even if they experience similar symptoms.
Using Bactromix Cream beyond the prescribed dosage or duration can cause unintended effects. It contains clobetasol, which when used in higher doses and over extended periods can lead to skin discoloration, prominent veins due to skin thinning, increased hair growth. Additionally, it may increase blood pressure and contribute to weight gain, high blood pressure, and facial rounding. If your symptoms worsen, please seek immediate medical attention for re-evaluation.
