Azro AM 500mg/60mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Azithromycin and Ambroxol. Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out. Addition of Ambroxol enhances the antibacterial effect of Azithromycin.
