Introduction
Axelog-CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Axelog-CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Can other medicines be given at the same time as Axelog-CV Dry Syrup?
It is essential to consult with your child's healthcare provider before administering any medications alongside Axelog-CV Dry Syrup. This ensures proper interaction and safety checks. Additionally, informing your child's doctor about all the medications they are currently taking helps ensure no unwanted interactions occur.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Axelog-CV Dry Syrup?
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause adverse reactions in a vaccinated child. However, children taking antibiotics should not receive vaccinations until they recover from any illness caused by the medication. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered after consulting with their healthcare provider.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Axelog-CV Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Regular monitoring of kidney and liver function is typically recommended during prolonged treatment with medications like Axelog-CV Dry Syrup to ensure the continued safety and well-being of your child.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Axelog-CV Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving a higher dosage than prescribed for Axelog-CV Dry Syrup can increase the risk of potential side effects. If you notice any worsening symptoms, consult with your child's healthcare provider for re-evaluation and guidance.
Can I stop giving Axelog-CV Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue this medication before completing the prescribed course of treatment. Even if your child experiences symptom relief, it is crucial to adhere to the full course for optimal effects and to ensure complete eradication of the infection.
Can the use of Axelog-CV Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Axelog-CV Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea. If the symptoms persist or you notice any signs of dehydration (reduced urination with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine), consult your healthcare provider before administering additional medication.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most cases are primarily viral, without significant risk for secondary bacterial infections. If you're unsure about whether your child needs antibiotics, consult with their doctor to ensure proper treatment.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
