Atormac TC Tablet is a combination of two lipids (fat) lowering medicines. It is used to lower the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (eg. low-fat diet) on their own have failed. This medicine helps to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Atormac TC Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Atormac TC Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Fenofibrate and Rosuvastatin. Fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood while Rosuvastatin prevents your body from making 'bad' cholesterol (LDL). Both raise the levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).
Notify your doctor if you experience muscle symptoms (pain or weakness) particularly if accompanied with fever. Notify your doctor if you experience stomach pain, loss of hunger, a sick feeling or dark urine. Do not discontinue Atormac TC Tablet without consulting your doctor even if you feel better. Avoid alcohol consumption (includes wine, beer, and liquor).
Atormac TC Tablet contains Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. While very rare (1 in 10,000 patients), a potential side effect of this medication is liver damage. Patients with pre-existing liver disease should avoid using Atormac TC Tablet. If you experience any early signs or symptoms of liver damage such as fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or abnormal liver enzymes, immediately contact your doctor.
