Oral Suspension
Introduction
Atlox MZ Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Directions for Use
Complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
How it works
Atlox MZ Oral Suspension is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
Quick Tips
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child experiences an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Atlox MZ Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Discontinue Atlox MZ Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.

Frequently asked questions
What if I accidentally give my child too much Atlox MZ Oral Suspension?
If you think you have given too much Atlox MZ Oral Suspension to your child, seek immediate medical attention. Although an extra dose is unlikely to cause harm, it can increase the risk of side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and rapid and irregular heartbeat. If you notice any of these symptoms, contact your child's doctor or seek emergency medical care.
My child is not showing improvement after taking Atlox MZ Oral Suspension for the prescribed duration. What should I do?
If your child is not responding to treatment with Atlox MZ Oral Suspension, it may indicate that the medicine is not effective against the infection-causing bacteria. Consult your child's doctor, who may prescribe an alternative antibiotic with a more targeted action against the infection-causing bacteria.
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Atlox MZ Oral Suspension?
Atlox MZ Oral Suspension may interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Atlox MZ Oral Suspension. Additionally, consult your child's doctor before giving any other medicine to your child.
