Frequently asked questions
What is Atfit 1500mcg Injection?
Atfit 1500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid). Vitamin B12 is not found naturally in fruits, vegetables, or grains.
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You may obtain vitamin B12 from sources such as meat, fish, eggs and dairy products. However, vegetarians and vegans may not get adequate vitamin B12 because it is not naturally present in these foods. Therefore, a deficiency in vitamin B12 might be noticed more often among those who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency may lead to symptoms such as tiredness and weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia. A condition of red blood cells becoming larger than normal might result from this. Other signs of deficiency may include problems with balance, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness in the mouth or tongue.
Is Atfit 1500mcg Injection safe?
Atfit 1500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects may occur such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash. If a rash occurs, discontinue the use of the medication immediately.
How should Atfit 1500mcg Injection be given?
Atfit 1500mcg Injection can be administered intravenously (directly into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Atfit 1500mcg Injection) and is given three times a week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Atfit 1500mcg Injection) is given every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken while administering Atfit 1500mcg Injection?
Avoid repeating injections at the same site each time. If there is intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, take out the needle and re-insert at a different site.
