Asthakind-LS Junior Expectorant is a combination medication containing Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol/Levalbuterol, and Guaifenesin. It's used to treat coughs with mucus, where the phlegm makes it difficult to cough up easily. Ambroxol acts as a mucolytic, thinning and loosening the mucus for easier expulsion. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles, widening them. Guaifenesin works as an expectorant, decreasing the stickiness of the mucus to facilitate its removal.
Asthakind-LS Junior Expectorant is generally considered safe for most patients. However, it can cause common side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, allergic reactions, dizziness, headache, rash, urticaria, tremor, palpitations, muscle cramps, and increased heart rate in some individuals. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience persistent problems while taking this medication.
Avoid use of Asthakind-LS Junior Expectorant in patients with a history of allergy to any active or inactive ingredients. Levosalbutamol and beta-blockers like propranolol should generally not be taken together.
