Oral Suspension
Asiflox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine commonly given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections. It is also part of the multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment regimen. This medicine is used to target the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, and urinary tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Asiflox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic that interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA. This hampers the multiplication of the bacteria and affects its survival, killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Asiflox 50mg Oral Suspension Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions Discontinue Asiflox 50mg Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing
Accidental ingestion of an excess dose of Asiflox 50mg Oral Suspension is unlikely to cause harm. However, in the event that you believe a child has taken more than prescribed, contact a doctor immediately. Overdose may lead to unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregular heartbeats). Seek immediate medical attention if any of these symptoms are observed.
If your child does not experience improvement despite adhering to the prescribed dosage and duration of Asiflox 50mg Oral Suspension, it may signify that the medication is ineffective against the causative bacteria. In such a case, consult your child's physician, who may prescribe a different antibiotic with enhanced specificity in action. It's important to note that not all medications are administered orally. Some may require intravenous (IV) administration for treatment.
While using Asiflox 50mg Oral Suspension, it's essential to inform your child's physician about any other medications or substances they are currently taking. This ensures a safe dosage regimen and minimizes potential interactions. Consult with the doctor before administering any medication to your child.
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who recently received a vaccination. However, it is crucial to delay vaccinating a child until their illness has been cleared. Following recovery from the initial infection, your child's doctor can provide guidance on vaccination scheduling.
Before administering Asiflox 50mg Oral Suspension to your child, it is vital to inform the physician of any underlying medical conditions that may influence the medication's efficacy or pose risks. These conditions include: heart disease, genetic disorders involving blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (sun allergy), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. This information helps the doctor assess potential complications and ensure appropriate treatment.
