Areban Oral Suspension is an anti-worm medicine used to treat roundworm and tapeworm infections in children.
Oral Suspension
Areban Oral Suspension is an anti-worm medicine given to treat a multitude of parasitic worm infestations such as roundworm and tapeworm infections in children. It works by paralyzing and restraining the worms from absorbing the body's energy, leading to their eventual death.
Do not share your child's medicines with others and do not give anyone else's medicine to your child. Worm infections are easily spread between family members. Your doctor may recommend treatment for all family members on the same day, whether or not they have any symptoms of infection.
Areban Oral Suspension is a mixture of two medicines: Ivermectin and Albendazole. Ivermectin works by binding to the muscle and nerve cells of worms, causing their paralysis and death. Albendazole works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), thereby depleting their energy level. This causes the worms to die, thereby treating your child's infection effectively.
Do not give raw or undercooked food to your child. Always give a balanced diet containing herbs, fruits, and spices of therapeutic value. Encourage your child to wash their hands with soap and water every time they use the toilet as that will help prevent cross-infection. Trim your child's nails frequently to disable any source of worm infection. Maintain a neat space and hygiene around your child. Call your child's doctor right away if the child exhibits signs of allergic reaction like rash, itching, or any other sign of infection such as fever, gum-bleeding, black or red stools, and blood in urine or vomit.
Symptoms of worms in children may include: itchy anal area, difficulty sitting down, fatigue, restless sleep due to anal itching, and persistent stomach pain along with loss of appetite or frequent indigestion. Another sign might be pica, where your child eats inedible substances like dirt. If you notice any of these signs, consult your child's doctor immediately. The doctor may recommend collecting a stool and blood sample for examination on three different days to confirm the diagnosis. Depending on the results, they will prescribe the appropriate medication for your child.
Areban Oral Suspension can be given at any time of day. It's best to give it with a fat-containing food like milk.
Intestinal worm infections are often linked to poor sanitation, where contaminated soil is present. Your child may also get infected by playing in the contaminated soil. After returning home after playing, encourage your child to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water. Transmission can also occur through drinking contaminated water or eating vegetables or fruits without washing or peeling them.
Store Areban Oral Suspension at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from children and pets to prevent accidental ingestion. Do not freeze the medicine.
You should contact your child's doctor immediately if they experience vision problems, puffy eyes, severe itching all over their body, trouble walking or standing, difficulty breathing, fast heart rate. Also, watch out for disorientation or confusion, loss of bowel control, and neck pain soon after taking Areban Oral Suspension.
