Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as AR Clu Dry Syrup?
AR Clu Dry Syrup may interact with other medications. Always inform your child's doctor about all other medications they are taking before starting this treatment. It is important to discuss any further medicine administration with your child's doctor.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with AR Clu Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics generally do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines, and they do not cause adverse reactions in children who have recently received a vaccination. However, it is advisable to avoid giving any medication to a child until their illness has subsided. If your child feels better, you may give them a vaccine as soon as possible.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking AR Clu Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Periodically, during extended treatment, the doctor may order blood tests for kidney and liver function to monitor your child's condition. These tests will be done as per prescribed schedule.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of AR Clu Dry Syrup to my child?
It is not recommended to exceed the recommended dosage of this medication. This can increase the likelihood of unwanted side effects. If your child experiences any escalation in symptoms, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving AR Clu Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
Do not discontinue this medication prematurely unless instructed by your child's doctor. This is because symptoms may improve before the infection has been fully cleared, and continuing treatment can help ensure a complete recovery.
Can the use of AR Clu Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, AR Clu Dry Syrup can sometimes cause diarrhea. This is due to its antibiotic properties that target harmful bacteria. Additionally, this medication might affect the balance of helpful bacteria in your child's digestive system and result in diarrhea. If your child experiences diarrhea, encourage them to drink plenty of fluids. Seek medical attention immediately if you notice signs of dehydration such as reduced urine frequency with a dark and strong-smelling color. Do not administer any other medication without first consulting a doctor.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most viral infections do not develop into secondary bacterial infections. It's important to understand that antibiotics are generally unnecessary for treating viral infections. Always consult your child's doctor before administering antibiotics, as it may increase the risk of side effects.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green nasal discharge isn't necessarily a sign of a bacterial infection, especially during a common cold. During such situations, the mucus may thicken and change color from clear to yellow or green. These symptoms typically last for 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
If your child experiences severe allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing, skin rashes, gastrointestinal distress such as diarrhea or nausea, and liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting), seek medical attention immediately. While these side effects are rare, it is crucial to contact a doctor in case of any concerns.
