Aptiquik Syrup is a prescription medicine used to treat various allergic conditions such as conjunctivitis and urticaria, and for prevention and treatment of nausea or vomiting associated with motion sickness.

Introduction

Aptiquik Syrup should be taken immediately after food or preferably one hour before you travel. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. In case you have missed any doses then it is better to take the next dose as soon as you remember it. However, you should never take a double dose. Sleepiness is the most common side effect of this medicine. Avoid driving or attention-seeking activity. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. In some cases, it may cause dryness of the mouth, so it is advised to drink more water, always carry sugar candy or maintain oral hygiene. Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have glaucoma or have any gastro-related issues. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Generally, it is advised to avoid alcohol while on treatment.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Aptiquik Syrup is to be taken with food.

Aptiquik Syrup is an antihistamine. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine). This helps treat various allergic conditions such as conjunctivitis and urticaria. This also stops the vomiting centre in the brain from receiving nerve messages that would otherwise cause motion sickness (nausea & light-headedness).

Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Aptiquik Syrup can cause dizziness and sleepiness. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Aptiquik Syrup as it may cause excessive sleepiness or drowsiness. Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake, and sugarless candy may help.
