Apicobal 1500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12, an essential nutrient required by the body for red blood cell production and maintaining a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in energy release from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Vitamin B12 is typically found in animal-based foods such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Individuals following a vegetarian or vegan diet may not consume enough vitamin B12 due to its absence in plant-based sources like fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency is often observed in vegetarians and vegans.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, decreased appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition causing larger-than-normal red blood cells). It may also cause nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include difficulties with balance, depression, confusion, memory problems, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Apicobal 1500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash may occur in some individuals. If a rash develops, discontinue use immediately.
