Frequently asked questions
What is Anicoba 1500mcg Injection?
Anicoba 1500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that helps the body create red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and utilizing folate (vitamin B11).
Why can't I get enough vitamin B12 through my diet?
You can obtain vitamin B12 from various sources, including meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, those following a vegetarian or vegan diet may not get sufficient vitamin B12 as it is not naturally present in plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, people who choose these diets might experience vitamin B12 deficiency.
What happens if I have a vitamin B12 deficiency?
A lack of vitamin B12 can cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal red blood cell production). It may also lead to nerve problems like numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms associated with vitamin B12 deficiency include difficulty with balance, depression, confusion, memory problems, mouth sores, and tongue pain.
Is Anicoba 1500mcg Injection safe?
Generally, Anicoba 1500mcg Injection is well-tolerated and considered safe. However, in rare cases, side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or skin rash may occur. Discontinue the use of this medication immediately if a rash appears.
How should Anicoba 1500mcg Injection be administered?
Anicoba 1500mcg Injection can be administered intravenously or intramuscularly. The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Anicoba 1500mcg Injection) and is given three times a week for the initial treatment. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Anicoba 1500mcg Injection) is administered every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions should be taken when administering Anicoba 1500mcg Injection?
Avoid injecting the medication at the same site repeatedly. If you experience intense pain or blood returns into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert it in a different location.
