Angloderm Cream is a combination of four medicines: Beclometasone, Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin), Gentamicin and Tolnaftate which treat skin infections. Beclometasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin) is an antibiotic with additional antifungal action. It works by preventing the growth and multiplication of both bacteria and fungi. Gentamicin is also an antibiotic which specifically kills bacteria by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Tolnaftate is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering.
It may take several weeks to show its action. Keep using it as suggested by your doctor. Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying Angloderm Cream. Apply it as a thin layer onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by an infection. It may cause minor burning, stinging or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas.
