Introduction
Andylox CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Andylox CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Andylox CV Dry Syrup?
Andylox CV Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. It's crucial to inform your child's doctor about all medications they are taking before starting Andylox CV Dry Syrup. Consultation with a healthcare professional is also recommended when administering any new medicine to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Andylox CV Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have recently received one. However, it's advisable to avoid vaccinations until the child has recovered from their illness and is clinically well. Once your child recovers, vaccination can be administered after consulting a doctor.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Andylox CV Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Periodically, the doctor might conduct kidney and liver function tests if your child is receiving prolonged Andylox CV Dry Syrup therapy for a better assessment of their condition.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Andylox CV Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving a dosage higher than the prescribed amount can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences worsening symptoms, consult their doctor for an assessment.
Can I stop giving Andylox CV Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue Andylox CV Dry Syrup treatment until you have finished the full course as prescribed by your doctor. Symptoms may improve before a full cure, so continuing the medication is essential to ensure complete recovery.
Can the use of Andylox CV Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Andylox CV Dry Syrup can potentially lead to diarrhea. This is because it's an antibiotic that targets harmful bacteria. Additionally, it may disrupt beneficial bacteria in your child's digestive system leading to diarrhea. To manage this side effect, encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids and consult a doctor if the condition persists and you observe signs of dehydration, such as reduced urination with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine. Do not administer any other medications without consulting a medical professional.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most viral cold infections do not lead to bacterial infections. Antibiotic use should only be prescribed by a doctor for specific cases where bacterial involvement is confirmed, as it can increase the risk of side effects.
The mucus coming out of my child's nose is yellow-green. Is this a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green nasal discharge does not automatically indicate a bacterial infection. During a common cold, it is normal for mucus to thicken and change color from clear to yellow or green. This typically lasts 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Seek immediate medical help if your child experiences severe allergic reactions (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea), or liver damage (signs like weakness, paleness, and vomiting). These are serious side effects that require the expertise of a healthcare professional.
