Amyclav Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Bitter taste in the mouth after intake Diarrhea Itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty (stop use and report to doctor immediately)
Amyclav Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria.
Complete the entire course of antibiotics Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops Never give Amyclav Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor Do not give Amyclav Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses Check 'expiry' before giving Amyclav Dry Syrup to your child
Amyclav Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. It's crucial to inform your child's doctor about all other medications your child is taking before starting this medication, and always consult them before administering any medicine to your child.
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children after vaccination. However, it's recommended to avoid administering vaccines until your child recovers from the illness and feels better. Once symptoms resolve, follow your doctor's guidance for vaccinating.
Periodically, the doctor may monitor kidney and liver function tests during prolonged therapy to ensure your child's well-being.
Giving more than the recommended dosage of this medicine can increase side effects. If your child experiences worsening symptoms, consult your doctor for an evaluation.
No, you shouldn't discontinue this medication until completing the full course of treatment, even if you feel better. Symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured, so continue the medicine according to doctor's advice for proper healing.
Yes, Amyclav Dry Syrup can cause diarrhea as it is an antibiotic that kills harmful bacteria. This can also affect beneficial bacteria in your child's stomach and may lead to diarrhea. If so, encourage them to drink plenty of fluids like water or electrolyte drinks. Consult your doctor if diarrhea persists and you notice any signs of dehydration such as decreased urination with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine. Never administer any other medicine without consulting a medical professional.
Most viral common colds don't result in secondary bacterial infections. Antibiotics should only be used after consultation with your child's doctor if indicated, as they can increase the risk of side effects and complications.
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate a bacterial infection during a common cold. It's normal for mucus to thicken and change colors from clear to yellow or green, often lasting 7-10 days. If you notice any other concerning symptoms like severe breathing difficulties, rash, or other alarming signs, contact your child's doctor immediately.
If your child experiences severe allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, skin rash), gastrointestinal problems (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting) immediately contact your child's doctor. These symptoms are serious and require immediate attention.
