Introduction
Amoxylimb Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments. You can give Amoxylimb Dry Syrup to your child with or without food. It is better to give it with food as that helps increase absorption and decrease the risk of stomach upset. The doctor may prescribe giving it two to three times a day. Medicine dose depends on the severity of the infection, its type, and your child’s body weight and age. So, stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed. If your child vomits the medicine within 30 minutes of intake, let the child calm down and repeat the dose. Do not double dose if it's the time for the next dose.

How it works
Amoxylimb Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents, amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas, clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Quick Tips
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Amoxylimb Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Amoxylimb Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Check 'expiry' before giving Amoxylimb Dry Syrup to your child. Immediately discard all the expired medicines.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Amoxylimb Dry Syrup?
Amoxylimb Dry Syrup can sometimes interact with other medications or substances. It is important to discuss all medicines your child is taking with their doctor before starting Amoxylimb Dry Syrup. Checking with your child's doctor before giving any medication is always recommended.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Amoxylimb Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children after vaccination. However, it is essential to wait until the child recovers from illness before getting vaccinated if they are currently on antibiotics. Once your child feels better, they can receive a vaccine as per medical advice.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Amoxylimb Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Periodically, the doctor might monitor kidney and liver function tests to assess your child's condition during prolonged therapy with Amoxylimb Dry Syrup.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Amoxylimb Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving a higher dose of Amoxylimb Dry Syrup can increase side effects. If your child experiences worsened symptoms, consult their doctor for reevaluation.
Can I stop giving Amoxylimb Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
Do not stop giving this medication unless the entire course of treatment is completed, even if you feel better. Symptoms may improve before the infection is fully cured. It is crucial to continue the medicine as directed by a doctor for a complete cure.
Can the use of Amoxylimb Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Amoxylimb Dry Syrup can cause diarrhea. It's an antibiotic that eliminates harmful bacteria and may also affect beneficial bacteria in your child's stomach, leading to this side effect. Encourage them to drink plenty of fluids if they experience diarrhea. Consult a doctor if it persists or you notice signs of dehydration such as decreased urination with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine. Do not give any other medication to your child without consulting a doctor.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most viral cold infections do not necessitate the use of antibiotics because they are caused by viruses, and bacteria do not typically develop during a viral infection. It's essential to consult your child’s doctor before administering antibiotics.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose is not necessarily a sign that antibiotics are necessary. During a common cold, it's normal for mucus to thicken and change from clear to yellow or green. Symptoms usually last 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Seek immediate medical help if your child experiences a severe allergic reaction (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, pallor, vomiting). These are rare side effects but require professional care.
