How it works
Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Quick Tips
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Your child may have a bitter taste in the mouth after the intake of Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup?
Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. It is important to inform your child's doctor about all other medications they are taking before starting this treatment, and also check for any interactions with their doctor.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup?
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with vaccinations or cause adverse reactions in children already vaccinated. However, it is crucial to consult your child's doctor about when and after they recover from the illness before administering a vaccination.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Periodically, doctors may monitor kidney and liver function tests if the treatment is prolonged to keep track of your child's health.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving more than the recommended dosage can increase the likelihood of side effects. If you notice any worsening symptoms, seek immediate advice from your child's doctor.
Can I stop giving Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop this medication until the full course of treatment is completed. Even if you feel better, the illness may not be completely cured yet. Continue following your doctor's instructions for complete healing.
Can the use of Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Amoxygod CV Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea. It's important to note that this is a common side effect as it works by killing harmful bacteria in your child’s body. This can also disrupt the balance of good and bad bacteria in their stomach leading to diarrhea.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Viruses often cause colds, but a bacterial infection is not always a direct consequence. Using antibiotics for the cold will only create potential complications and worsen your child's condition.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily mean your child needs antibiotics. A change in color during a cold is normal as the mucus thickens and changes from clear to yellow or green. Symptoms usually subside within 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Call your child’s doctor immediately if they experience any of these serious side effects: severe allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (severe diarrhea), and liver damage (paleness, weakness, vomiting).
