How it works
Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup?
Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. It is crucial to inform your doctor about any other medication your child is currently taking before starting this medicine. Additionally, consult with your child's doctor before administering any new medication to them.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup?
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children after vaccination. However, it's recommended that your child avoid receiving vaccines during an active infection until recovery is complete. Once the illness has resolved, the vaccine can be administered as per normal.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Periodically, your child's doctor may order kidney and liver function tests to monitor their condition during prolonged therapy with Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving a higher dose of Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences symptoms worsening, consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue this medication until the full course of treatment is finished, even if you see improvement. Symptoms may improve before the infection clears completely. Therefore, continue the prescribed dosage as the medicine might still be providing benefits.
Can the use of Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Amoxydov CV Dry Syrup may induce diarrhea. This is because it's an antibiotic that kills harmful bacteria in the body. Additionally, this medicine can also disrupt the balance of helpful bacteria in your child's stomach and lead to diarrhea. Encourage your child to drink fluids like water to soothe discomfort. If diarrhea persists, seek medical advice from your doctor. Do not give any other medications to your child without consulting a healthcare professional.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Viruses commonly cause the common cold, and these generally do not lead to secondary bacterial infections unless there is significant damage to the body. It's important to remember that antibiotics are only effective against bacteria and should be used under a doctor’s supervision.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate a bacterial infection. It's normal for your child's mucus to thicken up and change from clear to yellow or green during the common cold. These symptoms often persist for 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
In case of serious allergic reactions (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal distress such as diarrhea and vomiting, or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting), seek immediate medical attention from your child's doctor. Though rare, these side effects are significant and require expert intervention.
