Oral Suspension
Amoxcil Kid Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Amoxcil Kid Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Your child may have a bitter taste in the mouth after the intake of Amoxcil Kid Dry Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Amoxcil Kid Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Amoxcil Kid Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Check ‘expiry’ before giving Amoxcil Kid Dry Syrup to your child. Immediately discard all the expired medicines. Stop Amoxcil Kid Dry Syrup immediately if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty. Report to the doctor without any delay.
Amoxcil Kid Dry Syrup may interact with other medications. Consult your child's doctor before giving them any other medicine or supplements, especially if they are on other medications.
Generally, antibiotics do not interfere with vaccines. However, it's essential to follow your doctor's guidance for vaccination timing, as the immune system needs time to recover after antibiotic use. Your child should receive any necessary vaccinations once they are fully recovered from their illness.
In some cases, your doctor might perform routine blood tests or kidney function tests to assess your child's overall health during prolonged antibiotic treatment.
It is unsafe to exceed the prescribed dosage. Dosage should always be strictly adhered to for optimal results and to minimize potential side effects.
Do not stop giving this medicine before completing the full prescribed course, even if symptoms appear to improve. Continuing medication ensures complete eradication of the infection. Don't discontinue the treatment early; your child may still benefit from it.
Yes, Amoxcil Kid Dry Syrup can cause diarrhea as a side effect. Antibiotics typically disrupt the balance of beneficial bacteria in your child's gut leading to this.
Most viral infections do not lead to secondary bacterial infections unless there is a weakened immune system. Antibiotics should only be used under the guidance of your child's doctor.
Yellow or green mucus in the nose is not necessarily indicative of a bacterial infection. This is often a normal part of the body's response to a common cold, and typically resolves within a week.
If your child experiences severe allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, skin rashes), or gastrointestinal distress like severe diarrhea or symptoms of liver damage (like weakness, paleness, vomiting), seek immediate medical help.
