Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Check ‘expiry’ before giving Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup to your child. Immediately discard all the expired medicines.
It is essential to inform your doctor about any other medications your child is taking before starting Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup. Additionally, consult with their doctor before administering any other medication to ensure safe and effective treatment.
Antibiotics like Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup generally do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have been vaccinated. However, it is recommended to delay vaccination until the child has recovered from their illness.
Prolonged therapy with Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup may require periodic monitoring of kidney and liver function tests to ensure your child's condition remains stable.
Giving a higher dose of Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup than prescribed can increase the risk of adverse effects. If you notice increased severity of symptoms, consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
Do not discontinue treatment with Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup until the full course is complete, even if symptoms improve. The medicine may still be beneficial in curing the infection.
Yes, Amocrin-CV Dry Syrup can cause diarrhea as it kills harmful bacteria and affects helpful bacteria in the stomach. If diarrhea persists or signs of dehydration are observed, consult your doctor for guidance.
Most often, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Using antibiotics in viral infections can increase the risk of side effects, so it's best to consult with a doctor before administering antibiotics.
Yellow or green mucus does not necessarily indicate the need for antibiotics. Normal common cold symptoms can include thickened and colored mucus, which usually resolve on their own within 7-10 days.
If your child experiences serious allergic reactions (breathing problems, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting), seek immediate medical attention from a qualified healthcare professional.
