Ambril Drop is a mucolytic medication designed to treat wet cough (cough with mucus) in children, particularly when associated with an acute sore throat and asthma. It helps in relieving throat irritation, clearing congestion, and enabling easy breathing. The medication works by thinning and loosening mucus in the nose, windpipe, and lungs, making it easier to cough out. It also provides a soothing effect to relieve pain and irritation due to sore and dry throat. While generally safe, it is important to follow the prescribed dosage and consult a doctor for long-term use to avoid potential side effects.

Administer the prescribed dosage of Ambril Drop to your child with food to avoid stomach upset. Ensure your child takes plenty of fluids to help loosen and expel mucus. Avoid giving dairy, caffeinated products, spicy, and fried food to your child as these may irritate the airways and trigger coughing. A teaspoon of honey may help ease a cough reflex. Encourage your child to gargle with warm salt water to ease the expelling of mucus and ensure they get enough rest.
