Introduction

Alkin Syrup is a medicated formulation indicated for use as an acid alkaliser. It contains citric acid as its major component, which helps in reducing the pH of urine and rendering it less acidic. This not only helps in reducing the painful urine discharge by alkylating the urine but also prevents the microbes from colonizing and dividing in the urinary tract by increasing the pH. Additionally, citric acid prevents the formation of new stones in the kidney by preventing the formation of excess urate crystals in the urine.
