Oral Suspension
Alerkid Oral Suspension is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol, and Phenylephrine. It is commonly prescribed in children to relieve symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, body ache, and fever. These symptoms are usually associated with common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis), and other respiratory tract conditions.
Consult your child's doctor before giving Alerkid Oral Suspension. Do not give it to children less than 2 years of age.
Alerkid Oral Suspension is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol, and Phenylephrine. Cetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks histamine to relieve allergy symptoms, Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic that relieves pain and fever, and Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows blood vessels to relieve congestion.
Do not give Alerkid Oral Suspension if your child is less than 2 years of age. Consult your child's doctor before giving such medicines. Alerkid Oral Suspension may make your child feel sleepy. Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities. Never combine Alerkid Oral Suspension with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects. Stop Alerkid Oral Suspension and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties. Practice self-care tips: clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing, give your child plenty of fluids, restrain your child from having caffeinated products and foods that are spicy and fried, make your child gargle with warm saltwater, and ensure your child takes enough rest.
If your child is under 2 years old and experiencing cough and cold symptoms, a common self-limiting illness that usually lasts about a week. To make them feel more comfortable, it's best to consult with your doctor for the most suitable approach for faster recovery. If their symptoms do not improve or worsen, contact your doctor. A persistent cough may indicate a more serious condition such as bronchitis or asthma.
If your child has taken too much Alerkid Oral Suspension, they are at risk of experiencing severe side effects like seizures, psychiatric symptoms, urinary retention, shaking hands, blurred vision, severe abdominal pain, and rapid heart rate. In such cases, contact your child's doctor right away.
Alerkid Oral Suspension can interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your child's doctor about any other medications they are taking before starting Alerkid Oral Suspension. Also, consult with your child's doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Avoid giving Alerkid Oral Suspension if your child has a seizure disorder. Also, this medication should be avoided in children with cardiovascular disease (hypertension, heart disease), diabetes mellitus, gastrointestinal obstruction, increased intraocular pressure, urinary obstruction, or thyroid dysfunction. Always inform the doctor about your child's medical history and consult your child's doctor before giving Alerkid Oral Suspension for any medical condition.
Alerkid Oral Suspension may cause mild drowsiness, making your child feel sleepy. Be cautious not to give this medicine to induce sleep, as it could mask underlying sleep disorders like insomnia. It's best to consult with your child's doctor before giving this medicine.
Alerkid Oral Suspension should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children to avoid accidental intake.
