Oral Suspension
Introduction
Albenum Oral Suspension is an anti-worm medicine given to treat a multitude of parasitic worm infestations such as roundworm and tapeworm infections in children. It works by paralyzing and restraining the worms from absorbing the body's energy, leading to their eventual death.
Directions for Use
Do not share your child's medicines with others and do not give anyone else's medicine to your child.
How it works
Albenum Oral Suspension is a mixture of two medicines: Ivermectin and Albendazole. Ivermectin works by binding to the muscle and nerve cells of worms, causing their paralysis and death. Albendazole works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), thereby depleting their energy level. This causes the worms to die, thereby treating your child's infection effectively.
Quick Tips
Do not share your child's medicines with others and do not give anyone else's medicine to your child. Worm infections are easily spread between family members. Your doctor may recommend treatment for all family members on the same day, whether or not they have any symptoms of infection. Some self-care tips: Do not give raw or undercooked food to your child. Always give a balanced diet containing herbs, fruits, and spices of therapeutic value. Encourage your child to wash their hands with soap and water every time they use the toilet as that will help prevent cross-infection. Trim your child's nails frequently to disable any source of worm infection. Maintain a neat space and hygiene around your child. Call your child's doctor right away if the child exhibits signs of allergic reaction like rash, itching, or any other sign of infection such as fever, gum-bleeding, black or red stools, and blood in urine or vomit.

Frequently asked questions
How can I know that my child is having a worm infection?
A worm infection might be suspected if your child complains of an itchy bottom (rectal area), difficulty sitting, fatigue, restless sleep due to anal itching, and persistent stomach pain with loss of appetite or frequent indigestion. Another sign is pica, where your child may eat inedible substances like mud. Consult your child's doctor as soon as you notice any of these symptoms. The doctor may advise collecting stool and blood samples from your child on three different days for examination. Depending on the reports, your child's doctor will decide upon treatment and prescribe medication.
What is the best time to give Albenum Oral Suspension to my child?
Albenum Oral Suspension can be given at any time of day, just remember to give it with a fat-containing food such as milk.
How can my child become infected with intestinal worms?
Contamination from poor sanitation is the most common cause. This leads to soil contaminated with worm eggs. Your child may get infected by playing in this contaminated soil. When your child comes home after playing, ask them to clean up using soap and water. Contaminated water or eating unwashed vegetables and fruits can also spread intestinal worms.
How should I store my child’s medicine?
Store Albenum Oral Suspension at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from children and pets to prevent accidental ingestion. Do not freeze the medicine.
When should I call my child’s doctor right away?
Contact your child's doctor immediately if they experience vision problems, puffy eyes, severe itching all over the body, or trouble walking or standing. Difficulty breathing, a fast heart rate, disorientation, loss of bowel control, or neck pain after taking Albenum Oral Suspension should also be reported to the doctor.
