Oral Suspension
Albaxo M Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Albaxo M Oral Suspension is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child experiences an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Albaxo M Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Albaxo M Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
While an extra dose of Albaxo M Oral Suspension will not have any side effects, always consult a doctor if you believe your child may have taken too much. Overdose increases the risk of unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and rapid and irregular heartbeat. Seek immediate medical attention for your child if these symptoms appear.
If Albaxo M Oral Suspension does not provide improvement after the prescribed duration, it may mean the medication is not strong enough to fight the infection-causing bacteria. In this case, consult a doctor who can prescribe another antibiotic that targets the specific bacteria causing the infection.
Albaxo M Oral Suspension may interact with other medications or substances. Always inform your doctor about all other medicines your child is taking before starting Albaxo M Oral Suspension. It's crucial to consult with your doctor before administering any medication to your child, especially in combination with Albaxo M Oral Suspension.
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in children who have recently received vaccinations. However, children should not be vaccinated until they recover from their illness. Once your child is feeling better, then a vaccine can be administered.
Inform the doctor if your child has any of the following conditions: heart disease, genetic disorders affecting blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (allergy from sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. These conditions may be aggravated by Albaxo M Oral Suspension and can lead to complications.
