Aksmol 250mg Syrup is a widely prescribed medicine that helps to ease pain and bring down high body temperature (fever). In children, it treats conditions like headache, toothache, body ache, fever, and common cold.
Give Aksmol 250mg Syrup to your child with food or milk to prevent an upset stomach. Your child should not take more than four doses of this medicine in 24 hours, so wait up to 6 hours between doses. Never give any other medicine formulation containing paracetamol along with this medicine as that may lead to serious side effects. Inform the doctor if your child has liver disease as the dose may need to be adjusted. If Aksmol 250mg Syrup does not seem to be helping your child, contact your doctor for advice. Do not give extra doses.
Aksmol 250mg Syrup possesses analgesic (pain-reliever) and antipyretic (lowers body temperature) properties. It provides relief by blocking certain chemical messengers and pathways in the brain that send signals about pain and fever.

If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking Aksmol 250mg Syrup, repeat the dose. If it has been more than 30 minutes after taking Aksmol 250mg Syrup and your child vomits, no need to repeat the dose and wait until the next scheduled administration. For any uncertainty regarding dosage or action steps, consult your doctor immediately.
You can use this medicine if your child has a temperature of 38.3°C (101°F) or higher. It is crucial to consult with your doctor first.
If the fever doesn't subside after the initial few doses, it may indicate an underlying infection (viral or bacterial). Seek immediate medical advice from your doctor to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment.
Do not exceed four doses of Aksmol 250mg Syrup within a 24-hour period. Ensure a minimum 4 to 6 hour interval between each dose. Before administering for more than three days, consult your doctor. Taking more than 250 mg/kg can lead to toxicity and potentially fatal consequences. An overdose may cause serious liver and kidney damage. Inform your doctor immediately if you suspect an overdose, even if your child seems well.
Unless instructed by your doctor, maintain a balanced and nutritious diet for your child while continuing with this medication. Inadequate nutrition can increase the risk of developing medicinal toxicity.
Store Aksmol 250mg Syrup at room temperature in a dry, well-ventilated place away from children's reach.
It is advised to use Aksmol 250mg Syrup cautiously if the child has malnutrition, G6PD deficiency, liver disease, or any known medication allergies. Ensure you inform your doctor about your child's complete medical history for informed decision-making regarding the suitability of this medication.
Aksmol 250mg Syrup does not generally interfere with vaccine ingredients or trigger adverse reactions in children who have recently been vaccinated. However, it's best to allow your child to recover from any ongoing illness before administering the vaccine. If your child feels better and no longer requires medication, then the vaccine may be administered at that time.
