Frequently asked questions
What is Aitnecob 1500mcg Injection?
Aitnecob 1500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient necessary for the body to produce red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also helps release energy from food and utilize vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You may obtain Vitamin B12 from foods like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, people following a vegetarian or vegan diet may not get enough Vitamin B12 as it is not naturally found in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency is commonly observed in individuals with these dietary preferences.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become abnormally large). It may also cause nerve problems like numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, and mouth or tongue soreness.
Is Aitnecob 1500mcg Injection safe?
Generally well-tolerated, Aitnecob 1500mcg Injection is considered safe. However, rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash have been reported. If a rash occurs, discontinue use immediately.
How should Aitnecob 1500mcg Injection be given?
Aitnecob 1500mcg Injection can be administered through a vein (intravenously) or muscle (intramuscularly). The usual dosage is 1 ampoule (containing 0.5 mg of Aitnecob 1500mcg Injection), given three times per week. After two months, repeat the dose every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken while administering Aitnecob 1500mcg Injection?
Avoid injecting in the same area each time. If you experience intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-inject at a different site.
