Tablet
Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet contains two medicines, both of which help to control high blood pressure. It is generally used when one medicine alone is not controlling the blood pressure effectively. Lowering blood pressure helps to reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke in the future.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
No common side effects listed.
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet is a combination of two medicines:
It can be taken with or without food. Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, very dry mouth or muscle weakness. It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. Use of Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet during pregnancy or breastfeeding is unsafe.
You should avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes unless advised by your doctor. Also, avoid alcohol consumption as doing so can further lower your blood pressure and may cause some side effects. In addition to that, avoid getting dehydrated; drink enough fluids during exercise and in hot weather. The medicine may make you dizzy; therefore, avoid driving, using machinery, or doing anything that needs concentration unless you know how this medicine affects you. If you feel dizzy, lie down so you don't faint. Then sit for a few moments before standing to prevent feeling dizzy again.
If you accidentally take too much of Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet, you may experience symptoms such as low blood pressure, dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, vomiting, and rapid heartbeat. However, in some cases, slow heartbeat, reduced kidney function including kidney failure (e.g., reduced urine output) have also been reported. If you experience any such symptoms, contact your doctor immediately and seek medical help.
Remember, Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet does not cure your hypertension (high blood pressure) but helps normalize it. You should continue taking this medicine even if your blood pressure is controlled. If you stop taking Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet, your blood pressure could rise back up again. Generally, blood pressure-lowering medicines are to be taken for the rest of your life. It is important to know that by keeping your blood pressure controlled, you are reducing your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed one and take the next scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed. If you often forget doses, it may help to set an alarm to remind you. If not sure, consult your doctor for other ways to help you remember.
You should not stop taking Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet without talking to your doctor first. If you do stop taking it, your blood pressure may rise and you may put yourself at greater risk of having a heart attack or a stroke. If you experience side effects, such as dizziness, nausea, diarrhea etc., talk to your doctor.
Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet is generally considered safe for long-term use when taken as prescribed by your doctor. However, it's important to follow your doctor's instructions and monitor your blood pressure regularly.
Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet may very rarely lead to erectile dysfunction (inability to gain or maintain an erection). Consult your doctor if you are worried or notice some changes. However, untreated hypertension (high blood pressure) itself can lead to erectile dysfunction; therefore it is important that you take your medicine regularly and keep a track of your blood pressure.
Lifestyle changes play a major role in keeping you healthy if you are taking Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet. Avoid taking excess salt in your diet and find ways to reduce or manage stress in your life. Practice yoga or meditation or take up a hobby. Ensure that you have a sound sleep every night as this also helps to reduce stress levels and helps to keep your blood pressure normal. Stop smoking and alcohol consumption as this helps in lowering your blood pressure and preventing heart problems. Exercise regularly and take a balanced diet that includes whole grains, fresh fruits, vegetables, and fat-free products. Consult your doctor if you need any further guidance to get the maximum benefit of Aidsartan H 80/12.5 Tablet and to keep yourself healthy.
