AF-C Dusting Powder is an antifungal medication used to treat fungal skin infections. This includes ringworm (a rash that causes red, scaly patches), athlete's foot, fungal nappy rash, and fungal sweat rash. It can also relieve irritation of the vulva (external thrush) and irritation at the end of the penis associated with thrush.
AF-C Dusting Powder is effective against Trichophyton species, which cause ringworm infection, athlete's foot, and jock itch. It also works against the yeast known as Candida albicans, commonly causing vaginal thrush.
Symptoms of fungal skin infections, such as itching or soreness, may begin to improve within a few days of treatment. However, signs like redness and scaling may take longer to disappear. Do not stop applying this medication before the duration advised by your doctor even if you feel better.
Always wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying AF-C Dusting Powder. If applying to a foot, wash and dry the feet thoroughly, especially between the toes, before applying the cream. Apply the powder thinly and evenly, rubbing gently into the affected areas two or three times daily.
The duration of treatment depends on the type of infection. Generally, treatment lasts for one month for tinea infections, and at least 15 days for candida infections. Do not stop the medication without consulting your doctor as this could lead to potential complications.
AF-C Dusting Powder is only suitable for use in children under the strict supervision of a doctor. It should be administered correctly according to your child's medical needs and age.
Keep the affected skin areas clean and dry, but avoid excessive rubbing. Scratching can worsen infection spread. Also, do not share towels, bath mats or bedding with others as this can transmit infections.
AF-C Dusting Powder may reduce the effectiveness of some types of contraceptives such as condoms and diaphragms. If you are using the cream on your vulva or penis, use alternative contraceptive methods for at least five days after using AF-C Dusting Powder.
