Introduction

Aerocort Forte Rotacap is a medication used for the treatment of asthma, characterized by wheezing and shortness of breath. It contains two active ingredients: Levosalbutamol, a bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles in the airways, and Beclometasone, a steroid that reduces inflammation in the airways. This combination helps to make breathing easier. While it is effective in managing asthma symptoms, it should not be used for immediate relief of sudden breathing problems. Common side effects include dry mouth and potential fungal infections in the mouth and throat, which can be mitigated by proper oral hygiene and gargling with warm water after use. It is important to take this medication under medical supervision, especially the first dose, as it may cause bronchospasm.

Rotacaps must not be swallowed. Check the label for directions before use. Place the capsule at the base of the rotahaler, not in the mouthpiece. Twist the mouthpiece completely until you hear a click and breathe in deeply through the mouthpiece. Hold your breath for up to 10 seconds. If some powder remains in the rotahaler, repeat the process.

You have been prescribed Aerocort Forte Rotacap for the treatment of asthma. This medicine is for inhalation only. The tablet should not be swallowed. Take it at the same time every day to maintain consistent levels of the medicine in your body. It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Use your rescue inhaler to control sudden difficulty in breathing. Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake, and sugarless candy may help. Gargle with warm water after each inhalation to avoid any fungal infections in your mouth and throat. Take the first dose of this medicine under medical supervision as it may cause wheezing or tightening of the airways (bronchospasm) immediately after using. Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood potassium levels as low oxygen levels in the blood (hypoxia) and medicines such as Aerocort Forte Rotacap can lower potassium levels in the blood. Only very small amounts of Aerocort Forte Rotacap may get absorbed into the bloodstream after inhalation. Hence, serious side effects are unlikely. Do not stop taking Aerocort Forte Rotacap suddenly even if you don’t currently have any symptoms as that may cause your breathing problems to come back.
