ADPL Weak Iodine Solution is a topical disinfectant that has antibacterial properties, killing all major pathogens and even spores. It is used as a prophylactic treatment for superficial skin infections caused by sensitive gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is only good for topical application and can irritate your skin. If you have an open wound or are allergic to shellfish, avoid using iodine tincture.
