How it works
Adegesic-MR Tablet is a combination of a muscle relaxant (Chlorzoxazone) and two pain relieving medicines (Diclofenac and Paracetamol). The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm, thereby improving movement of muscles. The pain relieving medicines work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

What is Adegesic-MR Tablet?
Adegesic-MR Tablet is a combination medication containing Diclofenac, Paracetamol, and Chlorzoxazone. This formulation works to relieve muscle pain by targeting specific mechanisms.
Is it safe to use Adegesic-MR Tablet?
Adegesic-MR Tablet is generally considered safe for most patients when used as prescribed. However, potential side effects may include nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, weakness, sleepiness, and other rare or uncommon adverse reactions. If experiencing persistent problems, it's essential to inform your healthcare provider immediately.
Can I stop taking Adegesic-MR Tablet when my pain is relieved?
Continued medication use is recommended if prescribed by your doctor for a specific duration. However, discontinuation may be considered after short-term pain relief.
Can the use of Adegesic-MR Tablet cause nausea and vomiting?
Yes, Adegesic-MR Tablet can cause nausea and vomiting in some patients. In case of nausea, consider taking it with food or milk, or if necessary, using antacids. Avoid consuming fatty or fried foods alongside this medication. For vomiting, try taking smaller sips of water regularly. If vomiting persists, contact your doctor to rule out dehydration (dark colored urine, decreased urination frequency). Do not take any other medications without consulting your healthcare professional.

Long-term use of Adegesic-MR Tablet can potentially impact kidney function. The kidneys naturally produce prostaglandins that provide protection against damage. However, using painkillers decreases these prostaglandins levels, leading to potential kidney damage with prolonged usage. Patients with pre-existing kidney conditions should avoid using this medication.
Can I take a higher than the recommended dose of this medicine?
Taking more than the prescribed dosage of Adegesic-MR Tablet may increase the risk of potential side effects. If you experience a worsening of pain or if the pain is not relieved by the recommended doses, it's crucial to contact your healthcare professional for evaluation and dosage adjustment.
