Actispas-R Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat acidity-related abdominal pain, reducing abdominal pain, bloating, and cramps by relaxing stomach and gut muscles, and neutralizing excessive acid in the stomach.

Introduction

Actispas-R Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Actispas-R Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Actispas-R Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Dicyclomine and Ranitidine. Dicyclomine is an antispasmodic which works by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms) thereby relieving abdominal cramps and pain. Ranitidine is an H2 blocker (antacid). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn.

Drink 6 to 8 full glasses of water daily to help prevent constipation while you are taking this medicine. Do not use a stool softener (laxative) without first asking your doctor. Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within two hours of taking Actispas-R Tablet. Incorporate the following lifestyle changes in order to prevent acidity: Make sure you eat regular meals and drink plenty of water. Avoid spicy and fatty fried food. Lose weight if you are obese. If you are a smoker, consider giving up. Don't drink too much alcohol. Do not go to bed immediately after taking a meal. Sit in a relaxed position for some time for better digestion.
