Introduction

Acrotak Eye Ointment decreases the production of inflammatory chemicals by certain immune cells (T lymphocytes) and relieves redness and swelling. Never use Acrotak Eye Ointment if the seal is broken before you use it for the first time. Wash your hands before using it. Follow the instructions given by your doctor and use it in the dose and duration suggested by the doctor. Make sure you remove contact lenses if you wear them and wait for at least 15 minutes before putting them back. You must inform your doctor if there’s no improvement even after two weeks of treatment or if it gets worse. The most common side effects of Acrotak Eye Ointment include eye irritation and burning sensation. Let your doctor know if you experience any other symptoms which do not go away or get worse. Use of this medicine is not recommended in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor.

This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.

Acrotak Eye Ointment is an immunomodulator. It works by suppressing the action of a protein (calcineurin). This decreases the production of inflammatory chemicals by certain immune cells (T lymphocytes). This relieves allergic eye symptoms.

You have been prescribed Acrotak Eye Ointment to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) due to allergies of the eye. Remove contact lenses before using Acrotak Eye Ointment and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back. Do not touch the tip to any surface or to your eye to avoid contamination. It may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation in the eye. Inform your doctor if this does not go away. Consult your doctor if your eye condition has not improved after two weeks of treatment or if it gets worse. Continuous long-term use of the ointment should be avoided.
