Alfuzosin Amisulpride Aripiprazole Carbamazepine
Acosta 1% Gel is an antifungal medication which treats skin infections. It works by killing the fungi on the skin by destroying their cell membrane.
Apply an amount sufficient to cover the affected area and 1 inch of the immediate surrounding skin. Avoid getting in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Inform your doctor if the infection has not cleared up after four weeks of treatment.
Acosta 1% Gel is used to treat fungal infections caused by Trichophyton spp., Microsporum spp., and Epidermophyton floccosum. This treatment can be prescribed for conditions such as ringworm, infection of the feet or groin/buttocks, persistent nail infections (fingernails or toenails), and yeast infections (candidiasis) in the vagina or mouth. It is also used for cryptococcal infections and histoplasmosis, aspergillosis, and blastomycosis.
Acosta 1% Gel is effective against Trichophyton species responsible for ringworm, athlete's foot, and jock itch. It also works against yeast, commonly known as Candida, which often causes vaginal thrush (candidiasis).
Before using Acosta 1% Gel, clean and dry the affected area. Gently apply it to the skin with thorough massage. Avoid getting medication into your eyes or mouth. If you accidentally get the gel in your eyes, flush with water immediately and consult your doctor if irritation persists.
Treatment duration depends on the type and site of infection and your response to medication. For example, treating athlete's foot (fungal infection of the feet) may need treatment for 30 days. For candidiasis of the vagina, the dosage may range from 1 to 3 days, depending on the doctor's recommendation.
Do not stop using Acosta 1% Gel without completing the entire course. This will help ensure complete elimination of the fungus and prevent recurrence. Typically, nail lesions require around 6-9 months for complete treatment, followed by new nail growth.
Avoid contact with your eyes or mouth. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical attention if irritation persists. Do not use Acosta 1% Gel if you are allergic to it or its ingredients. Inform your doctor about any allergic reactions after the first use. Also, inform them if you're taking other medications regularly as this can potentially cause reactions.
Maintaining cleanliness of the affected areas and avoiding excessive rubbing are crucial for quicker recovery. You may experience itching, but avoid scratching as it can worsen the condition and spread infection.
Acosta 1% Gel might reduce the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives such as diaphragms and condoms. For a safer approach, use alternative methods for contraception like condoms or diaphragm for at least 5 days after using this treatment.
You may begin to feel relief from the symptoms of skin infections (itching, soreness) within a few days after starting treatment. However, redness and scaling can take longer to disappear.
If you miss applying the medication, simply continue using it as soon as you remember. If unsure or have doubts about your usage schedule, consult your doctor for guidance.
