Acnegel is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus it stops the bacteria from growing and prevents the infection from spreading.
Use it for a long time before your acne starts to improve. Be patient and keep using it every day. Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying Acnegel. Apply it as a thin layer onto clean dry unbroken skin affected by acne. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas. If you think the area of skin you are treating has become more irritated and infected, you should stop using Acnegel and consult your doctor.
Before using Acnegel, clean and dry the affected area. Gently and thoroughly massage it into the skin. Be cautious not to get the medication in your eyes or mouth. If Acnegel gets in your eyes accidentally, rinse with plenty of water and consult your doctor if your eyes become irritated.
Use Acnegel for as long as your doctor recommends. You may need to use it for several months to achieve complete clearance of your acne. Initial benefits may take several weeks to appear, followed by a gradual but noticeable improvement. Typically, Acnegel should be used for a maximum of 12 weeks. You may require using more than one tube of Acnegel during each treatment course.
Acnegel treats and prevents acne by inhibiting the growth of bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) that causes it. Acne is a common skin condition characterized by blocked pores (blackheads) and the invasion of bacteria, leading to the production of chemicals that cause red spots filled with pus (acne).
