Frequently asked questions
What is Acmic 500mcg Injection?
Acmic 500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 plays an essential role in red blood cell formation and maintaining a healthy nervous system. It's also necessary for energy release from food and the use of vitamin B11 (folate).
Why might I have difficulty getting enough vitamin B12 from my diet?
Getting enough vitamin B12 from dietary sources is important. Vitamin B12 is found in meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, people who follow vegetarian or vegan diets may not get sufficient vitamin B12 as it's not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, or grains. Therefore, deficiency may occur more commonly in those following these dietary preferences.
What happens if I experience a vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (larger than normal red blood cells). It can also cause nerve problems like numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other signs of a vitamin B12 deficiency include issues with balance, depression, confusion, dementia, memory problems, sore mouth, and tongue.
Is Acmic 500mcg Injection safe?
Acmic 500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, some individuals may experience rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash. If a rash occurs, discontinue use immediately.
How should Acmic 500mcg Injection be administered?
Acmic 500mcg Injection can be given via intramuscular injection or intravenously. The usual dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Acmic 500mcg Injection) and it's administered three times a week. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Acmic 500mcg Injection) is taken once every one to three months as part of long-term maintenance therapy.
What precautions should be taken when administering Acmic 500mcg Injection?
Avoid injecting the medication at the same site each time. If you experience intense pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-inject at a different spot.
